The Politics of Ducks

Two separate articles raise interesting questions about what ducks can teach us about political and social structures in the West today.

First, what can a study of duck reproduction tell us about patriarchal societies? What does the backlash against the study tell us about science, misogyny, and money?

Second, similar backlash over a ramp for ducklings in Washington, DC raises other questions about uses of public money and what grabs media attention.
