The Fight Against Al-Shabaab

Al-Shabaab has recently been regaining ground in Somalia, as the coalition fighting the insurgent group since 2007 begins to quickly fall apart. Ethiopia is facing increasing domestic troubles and wants it’s army on hand and Kenya is facing increasing public disapproval as attacks by Al-Shabaab in Kenya itself continue unabated. What does this mean for the future of Somalia, particularly as controversial presidential elections are on the horizon?
