The Overlooked Conflict in Thailand

Thailand, long known as a tourist destination and more recently known for its incumbent military government, has had a long-standing simmering civil war in the south, with Muslim separatists fighting the government for over a decade. Successive government administrations have tried to play down the threat so as not to weaken the tourism industry the country so relies on, but as a recent spate of bombings occur throughout the country, that is becoming more difficult, even as prospects for peace seem further out of reach than ever.
