New Middle Eastern Borders?

Although it’s now common to argue that the artificial borders from the end of World War I are responsible for the current conflict engulfing Syria and Iraq, this article argues for a different view. Given that all borders are artificial and that the borders currently being proposed by groups like the Kurds or ISIS have about equal basis in reality, would new borders actually be the panacea some in policy circles seem to think?
