When the love of learning stops

As someone at a high-achieving academic institution, I can identify with this all too well. There is a tradeoff that starts at an increasingly younger age between focusing on achievement and developing individual identity, interests, and curiosity. What are the consequences of always focusing on the future? Here’s one example.
