The ongoing Hutu-Tutsi conflict, in Burundi

Rwanda has long captured international headlines, but it is in fact it’s next door and equally small neighbour Burundi that is still suffering from incredibly bloody ethnic conflict, mainly over land. Burundi is very densely populated, and there isn’t enough land to go around. Scars from the 12-year long civil war (1993-2005) are still unhealed, and refugees continue to be a political, ethnic, and military problem.
